A Special Wish announces OSU Football Raffle Winner
Bob Huff of Springfield is now the proud owner of an Ohio State Championship Game Football signed by Coach Jim Tressel!
The ball was raffled by A Special Wish Foundation - Springfield Chapter to raise funds to grant wishes to children suffering from terminal or life-threatening disorders. The local chapter netted over $1000 from the raffle. The average cost of a wish is between $3500 and $3700, so it will help make one wish come true.
A Special Wish Springfield Chapter President Sheryl Roddy said, "We even had a few Michigan fans buy tickets." Their tongue-in-cheek reason for purchasing the tickets, according to Roddy, "To run it through the garbage disposal."
The drawing was held at Texas Roadhouse on Bechtle Avenue. The winning ticket was drawn by April Lenz, a Texas Roadhouse customer chosen entirely at random.
