Springfield's Got Talent - Mike Ballard

My name is Mike Ballard. I'm a 36 years old lifetime resident of Clark County, growing up in Catawba, with my parents still living there. I'm a 1989 graduate of Northeastern High School. I currently live in Springfield with my wife and two children, and until the past 1 1/2 years also worked in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center in the pathology laboratory. I currently work in the Columbus area and commute daily.
I am very active in the community where I have been involved in the Northridge Lions Club for the last 8 years, and am currently the club President. I enjoy sports of all kinds especially coaching my son in Northidge baseball. I love to spend time with family and friends, cooking, and grilling out.
I very much like to entertain people, whether it's in my back yard at home, or with my music in a local area bar, or talent competition. I really enjoy music. I like to listen to it, but most importantly I like to preform it. I've been playing guitar for years, I guess since my High School days, but sports and girls were more important.
It wasn't until about 10 years ago did I start taking the guitar seriously. I took lessons at the Guitar Attention Center. My first instructor was Rob Mowery, which lasted a few months. Then after that, I continued with the legendary John Lippolis. John took my playing, and preforming to a whole other level. It was with John where I got my first opportunity to play with "a band".
And for several years I was part of a trio with John and Roger Sigman (currently plays guitar with J&R Duo). Slowly, pieces of a new band started to form. With John, Roger, and myself along with bass player Scott Ground being the base of a band called "Studio". We went through many changes over the years and "Studio" is no longer around, but in some form or another, whether it's helping one another out with a project or just jamming in someones living room, the four of us (from Studio) have continued to play music together.

I was slightly disappointed that I didn't move on to the finals of the Springfield's Got Talent, I thought I did well enough, and I think the listening audience enjoyed my performance. But for some reason I wasn't that lucky. I did enjoy myself though. But maybe someone out there liked what they heard, and would like to get in contact with me for parties, etc.
