I was born in Lexington, KY on October 14th, 1945. My family moved to Springfield when I was 12 years old for more work opportunities. My love of music and performing began as a young boy. My parents were both in a country music band in Kentucky playing dance halls and bars. My parents took my sister and me with them on their gigs.
I remember a few bar fights, people trying to live out the songs. My first talent contest, I was 11 years old at Verona Lake Ranch near Cincinnati. Skeeter Davis of Nashville TN and the rest of the Grand Ole Opry was on the same show. I placed in the contest.
My dad taught me to play the guitar, so by the time I got to high school at Springfield South, I played in variety shows and played in a band at sock hops. After graduation from South, I entered the U.S. Air Force for four years. During my tour of duty in Turkey, I entered a base level talent contest, and got second place.
As part of my prize, I was given a half-hour TV show on the base TV station on Easter Sunday, 1968. Currently I am a certified bookkeeper and enrolled agent, enrolled by the IRS. I am a professional bookkeeper and tax specialist.
Like some other artists, I draw from different genres of music, i.e. bluegrass, traditional country, Southern Gospel and older pop music to get my own sound and style. My aspiration in life will always be to be a professional performer, but like others whose dream doesn't come true, the fun and reward is taking part and never giving up, The American Way!!!!!
