Over 60 couples renewed their marriage vows at the event sponsored by the Marriage Resource Center and held at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Rev. Raymond Stewart, Covenant's pastor, led the mass renewal while he also renewed his vows with his wife, Marianna.

A Flute Solo by Candy Guyselman of the Marriage Resource Center started the ceremony.

Lavern Nissley, Director of the Marriage Resource Center, welcomed the couples and delivered the invocation.

Springfield City Commissioner Dan Martin, and his wife, Holly, read Mayor Copeland's proclamation declaring the week of February 10 -17, 2008 as "Marriage Week"

Rev. Paul Baker and his wife, Denise, performed "The Prayer".
The Church of God Chorale performed "My Life, My Love, My All" (presented here) and two other numbers.

Lavern and Ronda Nissley spoke on The Importance of Investing in Marriage.

Rev. Eddie Jaudon and his wife, Jackie, of the New Vision Church of God, offered the Prayer of Blessing upon Couples.
Over 60 couples and their families attended.

Afterward a reception was held

Dan & Holly Martin not only renewed their vows, but they also followed the tradition of feeding each other the wedding ... uh ... cupcake.

Herbert and Ida Pencil are the longest married couple in Clark County. They were married January 14, 1929 - 79 years ago. She is 100, he is 98.
