Lunch on the Lawn

The Springfield Symphony Orchestra holds their "Lunch on the Lawn" on several Friday afternoons during the summer. It is held on the lawn of the Springfield Museum of Art. You can bring a sack lunch or purchase a box lunch for only $5.00 (and that includes your drink - either iced tea or lemonade). And while you enjoy your lunch, you can also enjoy some fine music, performed by members of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.

We visited on August 10, 2007. Portrayed here is the Seraphim String Quartet, comprised of Barbara Garret (Leader), Sara Kastens, Anna Brossart and Amanda Kincaid.

The event was well-attended, and all the box lunches sold out by noon.
Lunch on the Lawn drew visitors of all ages, from all walks of life...and one visitor that walks on all fours.

Some were even dancing

When the lunches are sold out, the lunch ladies can enjoy the music.
