Did you know that Springfield was the site for a horse auction that drew horse owners from around the country and bidders from around the world?
We didn't either - we happened across it by chance.
Tradition Eleven was held at the Champions Center at the Fairgrounds November 8, 9 & 10. Horse breeders and trainers from around the nation were there auctioning their animals, and bidders from around the world were able to participate on the internet. We were told that several soldiers staioned in Iraq had registered as bidders and had made bids.
The sale was conducted by Addis Equine Auctions of Edmond, Oklahoma. The sale brought hundreds of visitors and participants to town for the weekend.
We were there Saturday and caught some of the action.
