Clark County Fair - Pig Scrambles

Take one muddy field, four pigs, 50 kids and what do you get? Fun for the kids, exciting action for the visitors — and tough laundry problems for mom.

The kiddie pig chase and pig scramble have been perennial favorites at the Clark County Fair for years. The tradition continued at the 2008 fair.

The field crew 10 minutes later. No pigs have been released yet.

The pigs are released.

And here come the 4-year-olds.
While you're at the fair, visit these fine concessionaires.

The object is to pull the ribbon off of the pig's rear and return it to the judging stand.

It's not that easy.

He got the ribbon!.

The field crew then captures the pig and returns him to the pen.

Sometimes the field crew wrestle each other.

Everyone is a friend, as evidenced by this mud-pat on the back.

Lainie Wilhelm was the first-place winner for her age group and won a bicycle.

Madison Hemry was a first-place winner, too.

The high school girls had to capture the pig and return it to the winners' circle.

Emily Blessing of Northwestern/JVS captures her pig. The pig is not pleased.

Kendrea Taylor of Northeastern inches her pig to the circle.

It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it.
