On February 20, 2008, from 8:43 PM until well after midnight, we were able to view a total lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is directly between the sun and the moon.

Unfortunately our camera could not capture images of the eclipse's totality. If you were watching, you probably saw a bright light down and to the left of the moon - that was the planet Saturn. And that light just above the moon - that was the star Regulus.
