Springfield Museum of Art Community Day

On October 14, 2007, the Springfield Museum of Art held a Community Day at the museum. Community Day was in conjunction with their special exhibition, Legacy: A Tradition Lives On. There were plenty of activities for kids of all ages.

Kids were invited to participate in a scavenger hunt - their assignment was to find certain items within artwork on display.
If you can't find anything to write on, sometimes you have to make do with what's available.
In the clay room, kids could let their imagination run wild and make sculptures from clay.

You can tell that this is going to be a masterpiece

They both made snakes.
Models were available for kids to try their hand at still life drawings.
There was plenty of sidewalk space and chalk available for budding young artists.
It's a shame they'll all be gone with the next rain.
Cookies and juice and videos were available - to help refresh the kids after all of the creative work they did.
The day wasn't just for kids, though. Adults were welcome, too.
