Enon Apple Butter Festival

The 27th Annual Apple Butter Festival was October 13 & 14, 2007 in downtown Enon.

The Festival is presented by the Enon Community Historical Society to raise funds for its historical projects. The current major project is replacing markers in the area's two oldest cemeteries. Many stones have been worn or damaged by age and weathering.
Over 150 volunteers make 3000 pints of apple butter to sell at the festival. The apple butter is all made, canned and sold at the festival. Once it's gone, you have to wait until next year.

The canning operation is efficient and quite fast.
But not fast enough to meet the demand. It is well worth the wait.
The Enon PTO provided games & activities for the kids.

There was a good crowd Saturday afternoon while we were there.
And, of course, there was plenty of food.

Joe's U.S. 40 Grille served up their legendary buffalo burgers.

Chicken & Noodles
Enon VFW & their auxiliary "Cooties" - meat & corn.
The Enon United Methodist Church was serving up some killer bean soup & cornbread. And it was made on the premesis.
