Rebecca L. Shelby, 55, of Lexington, Kentucky died Saturday, November 21, 2009 following six years illness. She was born August 30, 1954 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Kenneth O. and Marlene (Hooten) Pollard Whited. Rebecca was a 1972 graduate of Springfield South High School (JVS) and was a Licensed Cosmetologist.

She is survived by her husband Johnnie R. Shelby, whom she met in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and married in 1982; one daughter Candy Jo Aliff of Lexington; four brothers Kenneth P. (Roseann) Pollard of Gallatin, TN, Kevin L. (Drucilla) Pollard of Miamisburg, OH, David W. (Leslie) Whited and Scott A. (Becky) Pollard of Springfield; two sisters Sue (Tom) Milliken of Hendersonville, TN and Charla Bailey of New Carlisle, OH; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step father Jack Whited. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Eric Mounts officiating.

Burial to follow in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery.
