Maude A. Couch

Maude A. Couch, 78 of Springfield began her eternal life in heaven December 5, 2009. Maude was born, May 21,1931 to Frank and Sylvia Hams Dobie. Ms. Maudie, as many called her, was a homemaker, who enjoyed music, animals, country drives, current events, bingo, puzzles, and the Reds (good times & bad). She loved to embroidery and ride motorcycles. She was a gifted prodigal pianist, and had played at various churches, until she developed stage fright. When she was young, she was a volunteer for the March of Dimes. Maude was a member of High St., Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her daughters Dottie Stevens of Springfield, and Cindy Haddix of South Vienna. Son, Donnie (Karen) Couch of Va. Beach, Virginia. Brother Sonny (Dot) Dobie and sister Charlotte Gilliam, all of Springfield. Grandchildren, Tracey (Wayne) White, Mandy Stevens, Erin Stevens (Terry Robinson). Ryan Haddix, Jenifer & Donnie Couch of Va. Beach, Virginia. Great-Grandchildren, Audra and Haleigh Robinson, Brittany Castle, Brad Brewer and Caleb Stevens, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen in 1975, who she married October 18, 1952; brothers Rodger Dobie, Robert (Tilly) Dobie, Eugene (Verna) Dobie; sister Margaret (Irvin) Cash; brother-in-law Dearl Gilliam; son-in-law Andy Haddix; niece Sylvia Dwelly and nephews Brian Sharpetia and Ronnie Dobie.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 2425 N. Limestone St., where services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Bill Blain officiating.

Burial at Rosehill Cemetery.
