Jennie L. Stinson

Jennie L. Stinson, 76, of Springfield passed away Friday, December 4, 2009 in her home following a courageous eighteen month battle with cancer. She was born April 19, 1933 in South Charleston the daughter of James C. and Alice (Clutter) Estep and was a 1951 graduate of Springfield High School. Jennie worked as a Medical Secretary for several local doctors until 1970 when she transferred along with her husband, Glenn, to Fort Wayne, Indiana. She continued working for doctors in Fort Wayne until they returned to Springfield in 1983. She and Glenn retired to Florida in 1986, returning to Springfield in 2000 to be closer to family. Jennie was a member of First Christian Church and later Northside Christian, and the Northridge Garden Club.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Glenn A. Stinson; one son and daughter-in-law Rodger A. and Tricia B. Stinson, and their son Benjamin A. Stinson of Pickerington, Ohio; a brother James C. Estep II of Port Charlotte, Florida; two sisters Hazel “Irene” Mustard of Springfield and Marjorie Mattfeld of Bridgeport, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were loved by her; special friends Barney and Carolyn Lykins, Amanda and Steve Lykins, Jack and Evelyn Begy, and Juanita and Dale Carson.

She was preceded in death by five brothers Everett, Forrest, Floyd, William and Willard Estep; one sister Edna Parsell. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.com.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. John A. Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
