Dorothy M. Stanfill, 84, of New Carlisle, OH passed away Wednesday November 25, 2009. She was born February 12, 1925 in Wellington, New Zealand the daughter of the late C. Alexander & Marjorie (Whitlow) Pickering. She retired from Tecumseh Local School District where she served as a cook.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Alan (Melanie) Stanfill of Hurley, SD, Michael (MaryAnn) Stanfill of New Carlisle; daughters, Marjorie Immekus of Lapeer, MI, Virginia (Carson) Carter of Washington Court House, OH, Valerie (John) Wells of Freemont, IN; brothers, Alfred (Lorraine) Pickering of New Zealand, John (Rona) Pickering of Australia; sisters, Gail (Murray) Swanson of New Zealand, Jill (Terry) Woodhouse of New Zealand; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Angie) Swabey, Justin Stanfill, Krista (Sujit) Pal & Chad Carter, Emily Stanfill, Christopher Sweigart, Nathan (Megan) Immekus & Meghan Immekus; three great-grandchildren, Bliss Swabey, Kiren Pal, and Evan Immekus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Stanfill in 2002.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. December 7, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, New Carlisle, Ohio with Rev. Jeff Burdsall officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church, 220 S. Main St., New Carlisle, or Midwest Dialysis Center, 1266 N. Broad St., Fairborn, OH.
