Roger A. Dingeldein, 58, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2008 in his residence.
He was born on June 9, 1949 in Springfield the son of James Delmar and Dorothy M. (Tingley) Dingeldein.
He graduated from Springfield North High School, Class of 1967 and then went on to serve our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he was awarded the Purple Heart. Following his tour of duty he graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Child Psychology. Roger was employed for over fifteen years at the Clark County Children’s Home and was a member of the Order of DeMolay.
He is survived by a very loving companion of more than twenty years, Sally Remmetter, two sisters and brothers-in-law: Cindy and Bill Parks, Sandy and John Russell, one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Pat Dingeldein, special niece, Robin Caudill all of Springfield; niece, Dawn Skeen, great niece, Buffie Massie, and three great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Harris, his father Delmar Dingeldein, nephew, T.J. Miller, and great niece, Danielle Caudill.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, May 19, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Orbie Estep officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
