Matthew E. Northup, 30, of New Richmond, OH formerly of Springfield and Urbana, died unexpectedly Saturday August 30, 2008 in a single car accident. He was born August 27, 1978 in Springfield, OH to Pamela (Harris) Northup and Douglas Northup.

Matt worked as a press operator at Spear U.S.A. in Mason, OH and had attended Urbana High School.

Survivors include his wife, best friend and soul mate, Carolyn (Pierson); Matt was a loving son and brother to Mother and spouse, Pamela and Terry Merrill, Springfield; Father and spouse, Douglas and Frances Northup, Orlando, FL; sister, Tara (Michael) Trabert, Springfield; Maternal grandmother, Hattie Harris; Mother in law, Margo (David) Shackleford; Father in law, Michael Pierson, all of Springfield; niece and nephew, Kyle and Lilly Trabert and many cousins and very close friends.

Matt was a free spirit who never knew a stranger. He will be missed by many.

Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor David Cottrill officiating. Entombment in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
