  • Village Loses One Grant, In Line For another
    Despite losing funding for a previous project, the Village of Enon may have another chance to receive assistance through stimulus funds.On Feb. 23 Jason Rose announced that four more village projects may qualify for zero percent interest loans through the Ohio EPA. The first project is a water supply improvement project for a new well, which could apply to Well #5.  This project is ranked 106th on the list of projects waiting approval.  Of the four village projects, this is the one that stands the best chance of approval.     Constance Miller, junior at Greenon High School, is the school champion of the Poetry Out Loud competition that began in November in Greenon classrooms.  Saturday, Febrary 20th, Constance attended the state school champions wokshop held in Columbus at the State Library of Ohio.  Tracey Lewis, Constance's English teacher and Theresa McClain, program coordinator, attended with Constance.   • Community Rallies Around House Fire Victims
    Friends of the O’Dell Family have set up special bank accounts at Fifth-Third Bank in the names of the O’Dell children, Madalynn and Shaler O’Dell.   Madalynn O’Dell, a nine year old Hustead Elementary student, woke her dad up at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2010, to tell him something was terribly wrong.  Her intuition was right.  Mike O’Dell rose to discover a fire raging in the walls and attic of his home located at 3130 Fairfield Pike, Springfield.  He only had enough time to wake the rest of the family, grab a few belongings including the family dog, Brutus, and place the 9-1-1 call.  Read more...
